At the 9th edition, Partos innovation festival in Pakhuis de Zwijger in Amsterdam focused on inclusive civic power as an essential force for social change. This is what I shared,"In this world, we all have different experiences but what connects us are different arrays of emotions, fear and hope." Story telling of the Maji Mandiga book, written by Mohammed Hammie has created a connection between the storyteller, the listeners(communities) and the character. That connection is the one that recognises the ways that we are the same and promotes understanding despite our differences. That is the foundation of building stronger communities that can claim their human rights to water. The way we communicate on humanitarian situations must change.Let people speak for themselves. Storytelling for social change for me is telling the truth from the horse’s mouth, for the outside world to feel and understand. That way, we try to drive a connection between the two and create solutions together.https://simavi.nl/en/news-and-stories/partos-innovation-festival-let-people-speak-for-themselves
