Unveiling the critical sanitation challenges in schools through the JMP WASH IN SCHOOLS Report 2022. Key insights as of 2021:

✅ 72% global schools have basic sanitation.
❌ 539 million children lack basic sanitation worldwide.
🌐 Coverage ranges from 47% in low-income to 100% in high-income countries.
🌍 Sub-Saharan Africa and Oceania struggle, with less than half of schools having basic sanitation.

In Uganda, climate intensifies issues. Heavy rains wash away facilities as seen in the Rwenzori region,Northern and Eastern regions.62% of primary schools without adequate sanitation (Ministry of Education, 2018).
